Skye based BAFTA winning producer Christopher Young and Club Film, the community cinema for south Skye, will this month uproot the stars of E4's hit comedy The Inbetweeners, bringing them from small town suburbia to the Scottish Hebrides.
In their first ever live appearance as a four, Simon Bird (Will), Joe Thomas (Simon), James Buckley (James) and Blake Harrison (Neil) will participate in two live events on the Isle of Skye. Joined by writers and creators of the show Iain Morris, Damon Beesley, director Ben Palmer and executive producer Caroline Leddy, local audiences will have the opportunity to meet the team behind E4's most successful ever comedy.
Inbetweeners producer Chris Young said, “The Inbetweeners has been an amazing success. Hugely popular amongst teenagers here in Skye, the show makes as much sense to a Portree or Plockton fourth year as it does to an inner city school pupil. My hope is that this opportunity, to meet the actors, writers and director, will inspire the biggest fans of the show - teenagers - to write and direct comedy for the small and big screen.”
The event has received the support of Stuart Cosgrove, Head of Nations and Regions at Channel 4. “Channel 4 is delighted to see the stars of one of its biggest hits visiting Skye and bringing some of the excitement of the TV industry to a remote island community.”
Club Film presents The Inbetweeners in Skye on Sat 20th June at The Fingal Centre, Portree High School 7:30pm, and Sun 21 June, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, 7:30pm.
