The Strangest Thing
Written by John Milarky, The Strangest Thing won the Hartley Merrill screenwriting prize at the Cannes Film festival 2007. This will move into pre-production by the end of the year.
Scotland, Christmas Eve, 1899. The new railway has arrived and the beautiful town of Rathbeg is to be sold and its townsfolk evicted from their homes as the tracks tighten their grasp on the surrounding country.
Down the line, a steam train plummets to its doom from a crippled bridge with everyone on board. One unfortunate passenger is missing. Time is stopped and the clock turned back. Nathaniel West, angel of death, now has three days to find the missing soul, put him on the train and direct him to his fate. These three days mark the last chance for Rathbeg to resist its decimation.
The Island

Two Polish immigrant children, disowned by their father when they arrive in England, accidentally kill their Auntie for whom they are forced to work. They run away into the ancient woodland of the New Forest making their decisions by the swing of their dead mother’s pendulum necklace.
