John Milarky's script, THE STRANGEST THING, has been awarded at Cannes the
Hartley Merrill International Screenwriting Prize, which carries a
$5,000 cash prize and a trip to Hollywood to meet the studios.
Financial backing from the Glasgow Film office has secured the completion of John Milarky’s final script version of THE STRANGEST THING. The latterday Capra-esque romantic comedy, set in Scotland and in Heaven in the late 19th century, tells of the age-old conflict between the greed of the individual and the needs of the community. Young Films is now seeking a director, finance and cast with a view to shooting in 2007.
